CONSERVATION area
In the Conservation area you will find information and experts about the following conservation projects:
Bike/Walk Central Florida: Obtain information about the biking and walking trails in the Central Florida area. For more information see: https://bikewalkcentralflorida.org/.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC): FWC’s popular booth includes a wildlife exhibit featuring the Florida Black Bear and other local wildlife with a biologist on hand to answer questions.

Orange Audubon Society: The local chapter of National Audubon will share how to get involved in birding, a great wellness activity that is fun for all ages. Volunteers will also discuss the Apopka Birding Park and the Orange Audubon Nature Center that is in planning stages, and about native plants for birds, and about wonders of the Lake Apopka North Shore.

Wekiva Wild and Scenic River System: The River Ambassador and volunteers will share about our region’s most special river, how it has national recognition and protection and how you can volunteer to help.

City of Apopka Environmental Department: The City’s booth will share information on water conservation, residential grease management, and stormwater. The City’s Parks and Recreation Department will be giving out cypress trees.
​
University of Florida Institute of Food and Agriculture Extension (IFAS): IFAS’s Plant Clinic will have Master Gardeners on hand to answer plant questions, from about insect damage, plant diseases and what plants are best for what setting.

Zellwood Elementary: This Orange County Public Schools were one of three local schools, among 42 schools across the country, that received a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools designation last year. The award-winning teacher will share about the school's sustainability programs, about participating in Orange Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count, and about being an Everglades Foundation school.
